Johnny Wactor, a longtime veteran of the TV soap opera General Hospital, was shot dead in a The Angels when he was confronted by thieves who broke into his car, according to TMZ. He was 37.
Wactor's mother Scarlett told TMZ that her son saw three men trying to steal his car's catalytic converter.
She said her son didn't try to fight them or even stop them from robbing Wactor, but they shot him anyway and escaped.
Police said paramedics arrived on the scene around 3 a.m. local time and took him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The suspects have yet to be identified or described, but there is an incident matching the description of the murder involving the theft of a catalytic converter.

Police allege the victim, believed to be Wactor, saw the three men “removing property” and tried to intervene when they shot him.
The suspects remain on the run.
The Los Angeles Police Department says it will not release the names of the victims.

Wactor appeared in more than 160 episodes of General Hospital from 2020 to 2022 as the character Brando Corbin.
