NBCUniversal Promotes Unscripted Exec Benny Reuven – The Hollywood Reporter

NBCUniversal is promoting one of its unscripted executives.

Benny Reuven has been upgraded to senior vp entertainment unscripted content at NBCU Television and Streaming. The former Oxygen executive reports to Stephanie Steele, senior VP of entertainment for unscripted production and development.

In his new role, Reuven will oversee the development of select documentaries and lifestyle programming for NBC, Peacock and the cable properties under the NBCU Television and Streaming umbrella.

During his time at Oxygen, Reuven was a key player in rebranding the network as Oxygen True Crime and developing several of his series, including Homage for the Holidays, Sign of a Serial Killer and Murderous Siblings† He is also the executive responsible for the production of Peacock’s Hart to Heart, Olympic Highlights with Kevin Hart and Snoop Dogg, WWE Evil and other shows.

Reuven has been with NBCUniversal since 2014, when he was appointed VP Programming and Development for Wilshire Studios. He came to NBCU from OWN, where he was executive director of programming and development at the cable network’s launch.

Reuven has also worked as a producer on a number of unscripted and talk series ranging from dr phil to CBS’ Kid Nation to Food Network’s Chef wanted with Anne Burrell
