An idyllic seaside home, perched on a clifftop with stunning views above an unspoilt beach, has been put on the market for £2.5 million.

The aptly named The Haven is one of just a handful of houses on a remote headland, hidden from view and only accessible on foot.

The five-bedroom property is located at Hawks Point, on the edge of Carbis Bay in Cornwall and offers incredible uninterrupted sea views.

It looks down on Porthkidney Sands, one of Cornwall's most beautiful and unspoilt beaches, just a five-minute walk along a coastal path.

The current owners demolished the original old structure and built the existing building in 2011.

They used it as a family holiday home and also earned a good income by renting it out, but have decided to sell it.

The property offers 2,200 m² of accommodation with a reception hall, open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room, bedroom, bathroom and utility room on the ground floor and four further bedrooms, all en suite, on the first floor.

There is a sea view terrace next to the living room and a hot tub where you can enjoy the view. Off two of the bedrooms is a wooden balcony which, according to Lillicrap Chilcott, has one of the best coastal views in Cornwall.

The breathtaking views cover the whole of St Ives Ba, stretching to the Hayle Estuary and along the coast to Godrevy and its famous lighthouse.

Porthkidney Sands is a beautiful and unspoilt tidal beach, popular with surfers and dog walkers, but remains fairly quiet even in summer due to its relative inaccessibility – there are no parking spaces nearby and the only access is via the coastal path.

Carbis Bay is a popular area on the outskirts of St Ives and the beach there, known for its water sports, was the location of the 2021 G7 summit.

Mark Bracey, of Lillicrap Chilcott, said: 'This house is set in a magical setting with truly world-class panoramic views.

'It sits on a promontory above Porthkidney Sands beach and there are about half a dozen properties that are only accessible by foot.

'That access may not mean it is someone's first home, but as a holiday home it is ideal. It feels like you are really in another world.

“It's like no other house I've been to. You hear nothing but birdsong and the waves below.

'Porthkidney is one of Cornwall's most unspoilt beaches and one of the most beautiful, and it isn't it can be too busy even in summer due to its remote location away from the roads.

'The Carbis Bay branch which takes you to St Ives is a short walk away. If you want the hustle and bustle, it's only a short distance away, but you can step out of there into this blissful enclave for peace and tranquility.

'The views and prospects are second to none. You have a private path that connects to the coastal path and with a few hundred steps you can be on the beach in a few minutes.'
