British hopes of a 72-hour heatwave could be dashed as a storm warning has been issued for some parts of the country.
Britons were expecting some sunshine after a few rainy days as NetWeather forecasts saw temperatures rise to 24 degrees Celsius.
But new weather maps now show parts of the country could be hit by a storm later this week.
The With office predicts heavy rain, hail and even thunder from Wednesday through Friday.
However, the weather will become drier from Friday.
Slowly moving heavy rain and thunderstorms may cause flooding and disruption in places across Scotland on Monday.
A yellow weather warning has been issued from northern Scotland, approximately 300 miles beyond Edinburgh, ending around the town of Jedburgh.
The With office advises people in the areas covered by the warning to remain vigilant for spray and flash flooding, which could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
They also warned of lightning strikes, hail, high winds and some risk of power outages. There is also a small chance that fast-flowing or deep flood waters will pose a threat to life, according to the National Weather Service.
