Luke Shaw provides update on Euro 2024 injuries and responds to loyalty questions | Football

Luke Shaw has admitted he is not '100 percent' fit England'S Euro 2024 campaign, but hit back at those who questioned his commitment to the campaign Manchester United cause.

Shaw has had an injury-hit season, being limited to just 15 starts in all competitions. His last appearance took place in February.

Despite his lack of playing time, the left-back was included in Gareth Southgate's provisional 33-man squad. although the Three Lions boss later admitted his chances of making his final squad of 26 are 'a gamble'.

Shaw was absent again United won the FA Cup on Saturday after a thrilling victory over Manchester City.

In a fiery post on social media, the defender hit back at those who questioned his loyalty to United and defended his absence over the past three months, insisting he is 'constantly working' to get back into the squad.

'Glad that the boys can lift the trophy this weekend and end the season on a positive note. As much as it was the result I wanted, it was hard to watch from the stands,” he wrote on Monday.

“This has definitely been the most frustrating season for me. I've had setback after setback and worked so hard to get fit again, but things just didn't go my way.

“I pushed so hard to be back for the end of the season and the finals, but some things just aren't meant to be.

'I want to do nothing more than play and win with Manchester United. I don't normally comment on things I see on social media but there are a lot of people questioning my loyalty to this club and asking how I am fit for England but not United.

'The reality is that I'm not 100% fit for either at the moment, but I'm doing everything I can and constantly working towards being that way.

'I have been at this club for ten years, through highs and lows, and when someone questions my loyalty it is obviously frustrating.

'I appreciate that I have not informed you all about my injuries and where I am with my recovery, but the most important thing for me is that we support the playing team.

'My main focus at the moment is to be fit and whatever happens this summer I will be ready. Thank you for your patience.'
