A cyclist appeared to ruffle a goose's feathers as he rode along a river canal – after the bird flew at his head and knocked him off his bike.
The awkward moment was captured by a Go-Pro that the cyclist carried on his head, with the 30 seconds video then shared on Reddit.
Next to the clip, which the cyclist shared to the r/CasualUK subreddit, was a caption that read: “The goose chose violence.”
It continued: 'This morning I'm driving along my usual route to work and this damn goose decides that this is the day I should be off. And that's what happened.'
The footage shows the cyclist from Stoke-on-Trent peacefully riding to work along an eight-mile route on a path next to a river canal.

While trying to pass the birds, one of the geese threw itself on the man's head, causing the cyclist to fall off his bike and to the ground.
The confused commuter appeared to lie on the ground for a moment, while the angry bird was still in view, flapping its wings.
After carefully getting back on his bike, the man quickly cycled to safety along the river canal.
The video has received more than 280 likes and 56 comments from stunned viewers, who teased the cyclist about the unexpected attack.
One wrote: 'B***** h**l really didn't expect that, I thought you were gonna swerve to avoid that first duck.'
Another joked: 'You didn't assert your dominance or defend yourself. You just ran away,” while a third added: “At least you didn't go straight into the canal!”
Meanwhile, another Reddit user added: “To be fair, some unknown entity was rushing towards them, haha - they're real bastards, and normally you can walk past them slowly with nothing more than a warning hiss.”

The cyclist replied: 'Normally I can pass by with little more than a hiss, which is usually met with a dismissal of me. I've been driving eight miles along the canal for work on and off for eight years and this is the first time they've decided to pounce on me.'
One person shared the experience of an unwarranted goose attack from his own friend, writing: 'My friend, a huge muscular man, was cornered in a shed with a goose and only managed to get out with a rubbish bin lid and a broom.
“Anything that attacks with its face is a force to be reckoned with.”
