Matthew Wolfenden breaks silence on Charley Webb rift as they 'find their way' | Soaps

Former Emmerdale star Matthew Wolfenden opened up about co-parenting with his ex-wife Charley Webb.

The David Metcalfe actor, 44, met Charley on the set of Dales and started dating in 2007 before confirming their split last year.

During Monday Loose womenMatthew told the panel what life was like after divorce.

“I think we're still finding our way,” he said. “I mean, the great thing is me and Charley are best friends and that's great.”

He added: “It's still new to us at the moment, but we're still finding our feet and finding a way to do it right. And I think so.'

In November, Charley and Emmerdale co-star Matthew shared a joint statement on Instagram to confirm their separationthat formed a united front.

'It is with love and respect that Matthew and I have decided to part ways. We remain friends and our priority is the love for our children. For their sake, we would appreciate privacy at this time,” Charley's post read.

While Matthew posted an almost identical paragraph, but swapped his own name for Charley's.

Last Christmas the mother of three showed support for Matthew as she took their children to see him in the production of Elf the Musical.

The actress shared a handful of photos on her social media capturing the evening, with one image showing Charley and her kids in the car, and another with them at the theater.

“Children love life watching their father,” she wrote. 'We feel very Christmasy'.

Matthew left his role as David Metcalfe in Emmerdale late last month.

The shop owner chose to leave life in the Dales behind and move to London, where his daughter Amba and her mother Priya Sharma (Fiona Wade) currently lives.

David's decision came after he learned that his son Jacob Gallagher (Joe Warren Plant) was in a relationship with Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins), David's ex.
