NatWest's banking app is finally back online after three hours failure leaving thousands of frustrated customers in the UK without access to money.

According to DownDetector, the problems started around 7am BST and affected customers across the country.

In response to complaints about X, NatWest has confirmed that the issue has been resolved.

“The mobile app and online banking service should now work as expected,” it said.

'Try to log in as normal. Thank you for your patience and apologies for any inconvenience caused.'

Of those who reported problems, 64 percent said they struggled with mobile banking, while 25 percent had problems with online banking.

The remaining 10 percent said the problem was related to logging in online.

Several frustrated users also went to X to discuss the outage.

'Dear NatWest, I do not have access to your online banking system nor your mobile app. Have you been hacked?' one user tweeted.

Another added: 'Natwest online banking is always broken when I need it.'

And one person said: 'NatWest mobile banking goes down for hours on what is payday for many people [skull emojis].'

While NatWest has not publicly confirmed the outage, its account has responded to users.

“We are aware that customers are unable to access their app or online banking,” one user said during the outage.

“We have reported this internally and it is currently being investigated by our technical team.”
