The residents of Emmerdale were rocked by the sudden, shocking death of Ethan Anderson (Emile John) in Tuesday's episode (May 28).
The lawyer collapsed at home, as did he and his father Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) prepared to go to court, where Ethan would appear convicted of driving offenses leading to Nicky Miligan (Lewis Cope) seriously injured.
Viewers later saw Nicky's mother, Ruby Fox Miligan (Bets Cordingly), taking revenge for what happened to her son by running Ethan over and then driving away from the scene.
She later visited him at his home, where she showed no remorse for her actions, which left him beaten and bruised. She even warned him that as Nicky If she couldn't get through, she would “finish the job.”
After Ethan's death, it was his grieving father Charles' turn to make threats, vowing “by God Almighty” that whoever did the crash would have to pay for his actions. Charles was convinced that Ethan must have suffered hidden injuries during that incident that subsequently led to his death.
Ruby was talking to Claudette Anderson (Flo Wilson) when Charles and Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) returned from the hospital with the news about Ethan and we saw the shock on her face when she realized her actions may have led to his death.
It's clear that Ruby, for all her tough talk, isn't so callous that she'd actually want someone else's son dead.
While everyone waits for the autopsy results to determine if it was the collision that killed Ethan, Ruby is terrified of the possible consequences she could face.
A new spoiler video shows the moment Ruby sees the police in the village. While Caleb Milligan (William As) assures her that it 'could be about anything', Ruby is almost paralyzed with fear.
Caleb urges her to stick to the story they agreed on together and act like they're going about their normal business.
Ruby's fears are confirmed when PC Swirling (Andy Moore) approaches and asks if Caleb and Ruby have a few minutes to spare. “I'm sure you've heard of Ethan Anderson,” he says.
Ruby tries to act normal and says that they were there when Ethan was taken away by ambulance.
Interestingly enough, the only other person in the clip is Rose Jackson (Christine Tremarco). We recently discovered that there is a connection between Ruby and Rose, with the latter apparently working with Ruby to destroy Kim Tate (Claire King).
Rose lives at Home Farm at the request of her daughter, Dawn Fletcher (Olivia Bromley).

Rose left Dawn when she was five years old, but is now apparently on a mission to get to know her daughter, especially since Dawn's son Evan is in the hospital with leukemia and she needs as much support as she can get.
Kim Tate already distrusts Rose because of her history with Will Taylor (Daan Andries) and Dawn, but in recent scenes, viewers have seen Rose talking to Ruby about the plot against Kim – with Rose seemingly trying to get out of the deal they made together.
What will Rose do with the information that Ruby is being questioned by the police? Could this be her chance to break out of the pact they have together?
And will the police find out the truth of what Ruby did to Ethan?
