Emmerdale confirms death story as resident is stabbed in 20 photos | Soaps

Emmerdale lines on one week of heartache and misery for the inhabitants of the village of the same name, with one character having to fight for his life after a scuffle goes terribly wrong, as confirmed in my new photos.

The ITV soap has been non-stop on drama over the past month, with shocking car crashes, unexpected twists – not to mention unexpected deaths – leaving audiences in shock.

And the shocks will continue next week, with one character ending up in a critical condition after being stabbed.

Samson Dingle's (Sam Hall) Josh's new boyfriend proves incredibly problematic and leaves Lydia behind (Karen Blik) concerned about her stepson's well-being. And worried that she should be very much so.

The newcomer tries to flirt with Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson), much to the dismay of Matty Barton (As Palmisciano), who steps in and calls Josh out on his inappropriate behavior. However, Josh refuses to leave well enough alone and ramps up his illness plan, resorting to transphobia and dead-naming Matty.

A standoff ensues, with Josh demanding that Matty hand over the money from the till Samson is injured, stabbed by the knife Matty was holding.

The questions are: Shall Samson continue? Also, will Matty get in trouble for the incident, even though he's not to blame?

Elsewhere in town, Rose Jackson (Christine Tremarco) manages to make some progress with her estranged daughter. Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley), for which she is grateful as she thought about Evan's condition.

However, Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) berates Rose after she jeopardizes Dawn's recovery by offering her heavy sleeping tablets.

With a fatal incident and a new ordeal, Emmerdale picks up the emotional punches next week (Picture: ITV)

The altercation halts her plans to destroy Kim Tate (Claire King) and she is forced to report something to Ruby Fox Miligan (Bets Cordingly).

Ruby and Dawn, as viewers now know, are in cahoots and plan to take Kim down once and for all. But will they succeed?

Emmerdale airs these scenes between Monday 3 June and Friday 7 June at 7.30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
