Emmerdale legend promises return of killer Kim Tate's dangerous side | Soaps

Emmerdale icon Claire King has teased the return of Kim Tate's dark side in upcoming scenes.

The actress, 62, joined the ITV soap like super woman Kim in 1989. Back then the Tate family were introduced in an attempt to modernize the show.

During her first period, she embarked on a series of cases, pretending to be dead and watching husband Frank (Norman Bowler) died before her eyes of a heart attack.

To make sure he was dead, she held a compact mirror in front of his face and then checked her makeup. High camp.

She later stole £190,000 from stepson Chris (Peter Amory) and pushed him out of his wheelchair, before jumping into a helicopter in the Home Farm driveway as he crawled across the floor to stop her.

Claire returned to the series in 2018 after a 19-year absence.

Kim is currently dealing with the return of Rose Jackson (Christine Tremarco), the estranged ex-wife of her husband Will Taylor (Dean Andrews), who has moved into their family home.

This has now become clear to the viewer she works with Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) to break up Kim and Will, then let Ruby take control of Home Farm and allow Rose to emotionally support her daughter Dawn (Olivia Bromley) when everything falls apart.

Despite the plot, Claire joked in a recent interview that she doesn't think anyone is a match for Kim: “I don't think there are many people in the world who can match Kim!” she said Inside soap magazine.

'She is like a lioness who protects her family when she is threatened. So I think I'd be quite scared if I were Rose and forced myself into Kim's territory.”

She added: “It's great to play nice Kim as it adds layers and another dimension to her character, although mischievous Kim is always more fun and has great one-liners.

“However, I think audiences are waiting for the return of mischievous Kim, and maybe they'll get their chance soon…”

We can't wait to see how this turns out, and if she manages to get revenge on Ruby and Rose's plans!
