Maxis has partnered with Singtel to introduce an all-in-one platform for 5G network, edge computing, cloud and services orchestration, built on Singtel’s Paragon platform for telco networks. The platform will make 5G-Advanced (5G-A) and 5G technology, edge and multi-cloud computing more accessible to Malaysian businesses and accelerate digital transformation across sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, healthcare and public services.

Features and benefits of the new platform
According to the joint statement, the partnership was formalised during the Malaysia Commercialisation Year (MCY) Summit 2024, an event organised by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) to boost the national commercialisation ecosystem.
The platform, which has been made available in Malaysia through Maxis' corporate arm, Maxis Business, will deliver on-demand edge computing services including low-latency computing, GPU as a Service (GPUaaS) and storage. Its multi-access edge computing (MEC) capabilities will enable real-time data processing and intelligent decision-making using Artificial Intelligence (AI).
By leveraging the Paragon platform, both Maxis customers and partners can create network slices on-demand and deploy mission-critical 5G applications to MEC – all at the push of a button, the joint statement said.

“Our collaboration addresses customer needs by providing a unified 5G platform that simplifies orchestration across network and cloud environments. The platform provides enterprises with greater access, speed and flexibility to seamlessly deploy and manage 5G and cloud computing solutions. This will help them focus on their core business, further strengthening their global competitiveness,” Maxis said.
Expanding the capabilities of the Paragon platform
Platforms built and powered by Paragon have already been deployed in four ASEAN markets and now Maxis is bringing the capability to Malaysia. The platform is locally hosted and deployed in Malaysia to meet the cybersecurity and data sovereignty requirements for Malaysian businesses.
