We are approaching the start of the Premier League seasona time of year loved by football fans, football clubs and their cherished extended family of official partners.

It’s just a few days until England’s top 20 teams can finally stop talking and focus on what it’s all about: taking to their favourite Asian sports betting and casino platform and taking on their rivals as if they were betting on Pokémon.

Such is the excitement that the vast majority of teams take the opportunity to launch a new home and away kit each year. But there are some early signs of a turning point in this regard. For the third year in a row, Brentford are sticking with one of their second-year kits (home, last season it was away) and Luton are doing the same with their home kit this season, albeit in the Championship.

It’s hard to imagine the rest of the teams choosing to leave money on the table given the PSR – there will always be a healthy portion of fans who will buy a new shirt each season. But imagine the PR gain if a Champions League regular said we’re sticking with this kit for two years. Of course, it could be the other way around. We should all be thankful we’ve seen the last of Arsenal’s disturbingly garish 2023/24 away kit.
