South Korean publisher Krafton has partnered with in-game extension platform Overwolf to add official mod support for its upcoming life simulation game, inZOI.
This initiative will give inZOI players even more ways to express themselves and enhance their experience at launch later this year. As part of the partnership, Overwolf will work with Krafton to identify modders during early access. These modders will be able to create content that players can enjoy from day one and beyond.
“inZOI is committed to encouraging players to more easily create mods and express their artistic talents. By partnering with CurseForge, we are providing a dedicated platform for inZOI mods, ensuring our community has the best tools and resources to bring their creative visions to life. This partnership reflects our commitment to fostering a vibrant modding community within inZOI,” said Hyungjun Kim, producer and director of inZOI.
Official UGC support allows Krafton to populate the world of inZOI more quickly and compete with its biggest rival: The Sims 4. Unlike EA’s stylized take on the genre, inZOI aims for photorealism. inZOI also lacks a decade of expansions, highlighting the need for user-generated content to fill the gap.

“UGC is the present and future of gaming, driven by a community of passionate creators and players who want to shape their experiences and make gameplay their own. inZOI is the perfect environment for UGC to thrive and we’re excited to partner with Krafton to deliver safe, curated modding experiences in the highly anticipated inZOI at launch,” shared Uri Marchand, CEO of Overwolf.
This collaboration will be familiar territory for Overwolf, which officially launched its Sims 4 hub in November 2022Today, Sims 4 is the third most popular game on the platform, with over 50,000 UGC projects and 1 billion downloads.
And just like its Sims 4 partnership, Overwolf will allow UGC creators to monetize their inZOI content as well. In 2023, Overwolf will pay $201 million to in-game content creators across the platform.
A demo version of inZOI is now availablePlayers can also create their own ZOI in the game's character builder for a limited time, from August 21 to August 26, 2024.
