Beth Sutherland (Lisa George) will be looking for work on Coronation Street next week after her counterfeit goods scheme at Underworld backfired.

As Corrie fans know, Beth was secretly manufacturing counterfeit goods after hours at the factory to raise money to surprise his partner Kirk Sutherland (Andy Whyment) with a wedding.

However, the plan quickly got out of hand when Underworld's boss Carla Connor (Alison King) became suspicious and accused Beth, Betsy Swain (Sydney Matin) and Izzy Armstrong (Cherylee Houston) of using her machines to make counterfeit goods.

Beth left work before she was pushed, but she got into more trouble when she had to deliver the goods to the shady Sid. They were caught red-handed by her son Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) and her colleague Kit Green (Jacob Roberts).

Kit was willing to turn a blind eye, but Beth didn't know the corrupt cop had made a deal with him.

With Sid unable to work, Beth later asked Carla if she could return to the factory. However, Carla refused, leaving Beth to look for other work.

Next week, Beth goes for a job interview, while Kirk and her friend Fiz Dobbs (Jenny McAlpine) wonder why she joined the factory.

Now that Craig has already turned his back on his mother for her role in the plan, Beth is determined to keep it from Kirk. But how long can she hide the truth?

Actress Lisa George has long been rumoured to be leaving Coronation Street, leaving a big question mark hanging over Beth and Kirk's future.

Reports about her future with the show first emerged late last year, before Lisa later revealed that she took on a new role outside Weatherfield.

Coronation Street airs these new scenes on Wednesday 21 August at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
