Three girls from an inner-city secondary school head to the US after achieving the A-level results needed for their £1 million Ivy League scholarships.
Tasneen Hossain, Feyisara Adeyemi and Harmanpreet Garcha, all 18, each secured a place at one of the top universities in the United States through a program run by their Eastern American colleagues. London school.
The bright trio passed their entrance exams with flying colours, with Harvard and Princeton offering to fund the entire cost of their four-year education, at a cost of nearly £350,000 each.
However, the final step to university was dependent on their A-level results, and it has been an exciting few months for the students at Newham Collegiate Sixth Form (NCS).
Yesterday it was confirmed that all three teenagers had achieved the required grades to study in the US, meaning they can now prepare for the big step.

Tasneen, whose family comes from Bangladesh, spoke no English when she first came to the UK from Italy at the age of nine. But a few months ago she turned down an offer from the University of Cambridge to study maths and physics at Harvard.

She is now going to study there permanently, after obtaining an A for physics and mathematics, an A for higher mathematics and a B for English.
The teenager from Poplar, Tower Hamlets said: “I'm really pleased with my results.
'I can't wait to get to America now. It's going to take some adjusting, but I know I'm going to enjoy it.
'East London and Princeton are very different places, but I'm confident I'll adapt and have a great time.'
