Thousands of people gathered at the GPO on O'Connell Street for the homecoming of Ireland's Olympic heroes. RTÉ News (Monday 12:00) showed the entire event live, from the musical lead-up to the main event, so that people who couldn't be there could still experience it at home.
No, just kidding. Of course they didn’t. Footage of the event played silently on the side of the screen, while more endless talking went on in the studio by the invited experts, who were essentially repeating the same things they’ve been saying on the radio for weeks.
