Reta Thunberg was announced as the headliner for this year’s London Literary Festival.

A 19-year-old climate activist uses her slot to create The Climate Book, a collection of more than 100 contributions from economist Kate Raworth, author and activist Naomi Klein, author Margaret Atwood, and more. Launch.

Her speech, co-sponsored by Penguins Live at the Royal Festival Hall in Southbank Center, will be streamed live for free around the world.

Greta Thunberg is really excited to be the star of this year’s festival with the worldwide release of The Climate Book.

The festival, which runs from October 20th to 30th, also hosts a series of events exploring the climate crisis.

Science journalist, writer, and broadcaster Gaia Vince shows how migration is the answer at an event around her new book, Nomad Century.

In a special live recording, BBC Radio 4’s OpenBook will take a look at how our natural environment shaped a fictional landscape.

Elsewhere, writers Jessie Greengrass and Daisy Hildyard discuss the imminent emergencies of everyday life as they unveil their new releases.

The festival lineup includes British and international literary figures such as Malorie Blackman, Karl Orb Nausgard and George Saunders, as well as YouTuber Adam B, actress Minnie Driver, chat show host Graham Norton and broadcasters. John Snow is also appearing.

Tickets will be sold online to Southbank Center members on Thursday, June 30th and to the general public on Friday, July 1st.
