Men of the Commander General Special Intelligence Squad of the Nigeria Security and Defense Corps, NSCDC, have caught an illegal oil loading point in the Odorubu waterfront in Patani council area in Delta state.
The command’s public relations officer, DSC Emeka Peters Okwechime, who made this known in a statement on Wednesday, July 27, said four suspects were arrested while 6 oil tankers were seized.
The spokesman said the vandals used a tanker truck to barricade the only road to the illegal charge point to prevent NSCDC men from accessing the illegal charge point.
“After credible intelligence and 24 hours of surveillance, the Commander General Special Intelligence Squad arrested 4 suspects and seized 6 tankers and 2 vehicles loaded with illegally refined autogas oil popularly called Diesel in Orobo village, Ofoni River Waterside, Patani LGA of Delta State,” the statement read.
“The oil tankers were intercepted while carrying very large quantities of locally and illegally refined AGO in tankers and many cellophane bags packed in the two vehicles.
“The six trucks have since been successfully evacuated and turned over to Delta State Command for further investigation and prosecution.”
