Joe Biden told to ‘step down and take Kamala with him’ after US reached ‘dangerous situation’ | World | News

Joe BidenPopularity in the US has deteriorated, leading many Democrats to worry that they could lose the 2024 election. A CNN poll now suggests Biden’s own party is done with him. A massive 75 percent of those polled said they want someone else to represent the Democrats in the next election. Only 25 percent said they want Biden as a candidate, which is a big drop from 45 percent in a poll taken in February.

Speculation surrounding the US president’s plans for 2024 was already questionable before he was elected.

His opponents have responded to this: In January, former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley called on Biden to resign.

She told Fox News Radio: “Frankly, for the good of our country, if Biden loved our country, he would step down and [Vice President] Kamala [Harris] with him.

“Because the foreign policy situation is more than dangerous at the moment.”

Ms. Haley, a potential Republican presidential candidate for 2024, criticized Mr. Biden over the Winter Olympics in China.

She added: “The reason I pushed so hard for a boycott of the Beijing Olympics is that if they get a pass and we get past these Olympics and we still look weak, they’ll do what they want.” want because they can.”

Before that, she had also criticized Mr Biden for his foreign policy on issues from Afghanistan to Russia.

She said: “We suffer from the fact that, with the fall of Afghanistan, I mean, you’ve got everything from Putin, Xi, Kim Jong Un in North Korea to the Ayatollahs in Iran – they’re all getting what a great opportunity this is.

“They know they’ve never had such a weak president. They know they’ll probably never have another president again, so they’re trying to get everything they can.”

While Mr Biden faces mounting pressure, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre claimed the US president is unimpressed by the recent negative headlines.

“That’s the plan on the other side.

“At least this president has a plan. And he is doing the work on behalf of the American people.”

Donald Trump has strongly indicated that he will run again in 2024.

Speaking to New York Mag earlier this month, Mr. Trump said, “Look,. I am confident that if I decide to run I will win.”

He added that his “big decision” was whether to announce his offer before or after the midterms in September.
