Beyonce has revealed that her seventh studio album, Renaissance, is actually part of a three-act project.
The Crazy in Love singer left fans in a frenzy a few weeks ago when she announced she was release new music last month after six years.
However, fans now have the promise of even more than the 16-track album on the horizon, as Beyonce revealed that Renaissance is “act one” of a three-act project.
In a statement ahead of the new album’s release, which has been received so far rave reviews from criticsBeyonce explained, “This three-act project was shot for three years during the pandemic.
‘A time to be quiet, but also a time that I found most creative. Making this album gave me a place to dream and escape in a scary time for the world.’
She continued: ‘It allowed me to feel free and adventurous at a time when little else was moving. My intention was to create a safe place. A place without judgement.
‘A place to be free from perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, let go, feel freedom. It was a nice voyage of discovery.’
Prior to the release of her seventh studio album, Beyonce took a moment to thank her family and husband, Jay Z to give her the ‘space, creativity and inspiration’ to make new music in the pandemic.
Beyonce shared the post with a heartwarming photo of herself surrounded by her sleeping children Blue Ivy, 10, and twins, Rumi and Sir, five, in a bed.
She wrote: ‘I would like to say a special thank you to Rumi, Sir and Blue for the space, creativity and inspiration.
“And a special thank you to my beautiful husband and muse, who held me in those late nights in the studio.”
The Grammy-winning performer has been married to the rapper since 2008, and the couple welcomed Blue Ivy in 2012 and their twins in 2017.
The iconic couple is notoriously private about the lives of their three children, but this sweet photo shows the striking resemblance all three children bear to their legendary mother.
In the post, Beyonce also wrote about her wider family and reflected on the significance they have had in both her personal life and her music career.
“A big thank you to my uncle Jonny,” Beyonce wrote, “He was my godmother and the first person to expose me to much of the music and culture that inspired this album.”
She added: ‘Mommy, me [love] you. To my father, my OG, my first teacher: you inspire me with every move I make. I love you.’
The open letter to her devoted fans also paid tribute to the “fallen angels” who contributed to the culture but remain “unrecognized.”
“Thank you to all the pioneers who have produced the culture, to all the fallen angels whose contributions have gone unnoticed for far too long. This is a party for you,’ she continued.
Despite the excitement of fans about the new album, they have fans ignored the part of the album that was ‘leaked’online on Wednesdays in support of the artist.
“To all my fans, I hope you find pleasure in this music,” she gushed, “I hope it inspires you to let go of the wobbling. haha! And to feel as unique, strong and sexy as you are. Love you all, B.’
Break My Soul, the single from the long-awaited album is now out. Renaissance starts on Friday, July 29 at midnight.
