The Football Association found that the Premier League player arrested on suspicion of raping two women did not “pose a risk to children or adults at risk in football” before allegedly attacking his second victim.
On Friday, it emerged that his first alleged victim had made a formal complaint to the FA in or about September about a rape committed abroad on June 19 last year.
The international was arrested three and a half weeks ago on suspicion of raping the second woman last month.
The player, who denies any fouls, has continued to play for his club since the first woman complained to the FA, including after both his first and second arrests.
In an email to the woman who made the complaint, the FA wrote: “In considering the sensitive information you shared, further actions were taken to reduce the risk of harm to all children and all adults at risk in football.” was assessed.”
It went on to say that because she was an adult at the time of the alleged crime and “there is no further information to suggest the person poses a risk to children or adults at risk in football, the FA’s safety regulations do not are authorized to proceed in accordance with our regulations”.
It added: “This in no way detracts from the seriousness of the concerns you have raised, but from a security perspective and the FA remains fully supportive of your reporting this to the police.”
The FA, which recently came to a similar conclusion about a football manager accused of sexual impropriety, declined to comment.
As revealed by Telegraph SportScotland Yard will not take any further action in relation to the alleged rape on June 19.
Officers are investigating two other alleged rapes, one against the same woman in April last year and the other against the second woman last month.
The player has also had his bail settlement extended from next month to October.
