Detectives investigating the disappearance of a young mother arrest a man on suspicion of murdering her

The hunt for Madison’s body: Missing mother, 30, is feared dead after disappearing a week ago, while 36-year-old man is arrested on suspicion of murdering her

Police have arrested a man on suspicion of the murder of a young mother who has not been seen for more than a week.

Madison Wright, 30, of Basildon in Essex, was wearing a pink top, black pants and flip flops when she was last seen alive on July 22.

Her car, a black Opel Astra with registration number EU13 JVW, was found four days later on July 26 in Basildon.

Essex police said a 36-year-old man from Pitsea was arrested Friday morning on suspicion of the murder of Mrs Wright.

It is understood that the suspect, who remains in custody, is an acquaintance of Mrs. Wright.

Mrs Wright, who is six feet tall, slender, with hazel eyes and shoulder-length blond hair, has not been seen or heard from since 8:30 a.m. Friday, July 22.

She has a dreamcatcher tattoo on her left arm and a rose tattoo on her right hand.

Detective Superintendent Rob Kirby, of the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, said: ‘Madison is a young mother, with a family that loves her and is very concerned about her.

“She’s been missing for a week today and is still missing, and we need to find her urgently.

“We have a team of dedicated, specialized agents and employees working to locate her and we urgently need someone with information about her disappearance to contact us.”

He said officers would like to speak to anyone who has seen or heard of Ms. Wright since the morning of July 22, or seen her between that time and when her car was found on Tuesday, July 26.

The police are also relying on CCTV footage, dashcams or other footage related to the incident.
