Canned corned beef should not be eaten straight from the can as is.

There is a certain amount of preparation that has to go into making it a better tasting meal.

One of the steps you can take is to add fresh ingredients.

Eggs, peppers, and onions can quickly spice up the canned dish.

If you want to do things differently, you can add some freshly chopped herbs, such as dill or coriander.

You can also opt for chopped spring onions or chives.

If you’re concerned about the high sodium content of the canned corned beef, you can also follow a rinse-and-repeat process to get rid of some of the salt.

Empty the can into a bowl and then add cold water.

Make sure the meat is evenly distributed in the bowl so that the water can infiltrate.

Keep the bowl in the refrigerator for an hour before rinsing the meat and repeating the process.

But be sure to let the canned hash dry before tossing it into a heated pan of oil.
