Brexit news: Whitehall ‘Blob’ STILL wants to suck Britain back into EU, warns Johnson ally | Politics | News

As Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak campaigned stubbornly in light of Mr Johnson’s resignation last month, his former adviser Baron Moylan – formerly Daniel Moylan – said: “The civil service must be an organization that embraces change, especially Brexit.” And that isn’t it – it was raised to embrace to keep everything as it is.

“It does that with great pleasure and has been following the instructions from Brussels for 50 years.”

Brexit Opportunities Minister Jacob Rees-Mogg launched a wide-ranging review this week to examine whether officials properly implemented ministers’ decisions, chaired by ex-Trade Minister Lord Francis Maude.

Lord Moylan added: “Jacob is absolutely right. I have no idea what the solution is, but then Jacob gets paid to find solutions, not me.”

Earlier this week, it was announced that Ms. Truss urged Johnson’s then-advisor Dominic Cummings to cut hundreds of “awakened” civil service jobs.

She also demanded the abolition of diversity and inclusion and pledged to stand up to what she called Whitehall’s “risk-averse groupthink.”
