Two soldiers and a female civilian have been killed in a car accident around the bus stop Obadeyi, Ijaiye, Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, in Lagos state.
The accident involving a truck and a Mitsubishi sedan with registration number RNG396AA took place on Friday, July 29.
The deceased is said to have been in the car when a truck driving into traffic collided with their vehicle.
Another male adult who was in the vehicle was said to have suffered injuries and was rushed to hospital by emergency services after administering first aid.
According to the Permanent Secretary (PS) Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the deceased have been bagged and awaiting collection by the military and the State Environmental Health Management Unit (SEHMU).
“The Agency responded to an accident between a truck and a Mitsubishi sedan with reg. no. RNG396AA. Further investigation revealed that the truck was traveling in the wrong direction and collided head-on with a car,” he said.
‘Unfortunately, of the four occupants of the car, two are male Nig. Army soldiers and a female civilian were killed in the fatal crash, while the last male adult was treated by LASAMBUS and taken to hospital.
“The fatalities are packed awaiting military pick-up and SEHMU. The vehicle was also recovered from the road with the agency’s light tow truck and handed over to the Meran Police Station. Operations underway.” he added.
