A person is in critical condition after an attack on a Christchurch bar in the early morning hours.
A police spokesman said they were called to a bar on Hereford Street after a person was allegedly assaulted at 1am on Sunday morning.
The perpetrator had fled when police arrived and could not be found.
The victim was taken to hospital in critical condition and an investigation into the incident is ongoing, a spokesman said.
