Tee Mac makes U-turn, says Tinubu is competent to lead Nigeria, #Tee #Mac #Uturn #Tinubu #competent #lead #Nigeria Welcome to OLASMEDIA TV NEWSThis is what we have for you today:
Former President of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN) Tee Mac Omatshola Iseli has denied that All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is unfit to be Nigeria’s president.
On Thursday, July 28, a comment TeeMac left via his Facebook page attacking Tinubu’s presidential aspiration went viral. In his post, the celebrated musician said Tinubu is 86 and too old to serve as president.
However, in a statement released on Saturday, July 30, the famed flautist said Tinubu’s ability to lead Nigeria is not in doubt. According to him, the only grouse he has with Tinubu is that in 2015 he sold President Buhari, who underperformed to Nigerians.
“My attention has been drawn to a post that has gone viral on social media about a private talk with a Facebook acquaintance about the suitability of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
While it’s unfortunate that such a private conversation went viral via a Facebook account, let me say the conversation has been taken out of context.
Initially, I have great respect for the person of the APC presidential candidate; a two (2) term governor of Lagos State, and a respected leader of the APC. I have lived in Lagos since moving from Switzerland and I can attest to its transformative impact in the state.
More importantly, his ability to identify and engage exceptional and committed technocrats in governance with tangible results over time, and nurturing relationships with them and others across the board. This will be repeated in my opinion if he gets the chance at the federal level.
His all-encompassing style of governance has led people from other states, ethnicities, and creeds to work in Lagos and serve meritoriously too!
His competence is therefore not in question.
I only expressed my fear of the rigors of the office.
My personal opinion is that anyone can choose any candidate, but must ask themselves whether they have made the right choice. This is a pertinent question for everyone. I just urged a friend to vote based on his beliefs.
My one grouse, which I still stand behind, is that it was Tinubu who sold Buhari to the nation in 2015, which candidate, against all odds, underperformed.
Notwithstanding the above, I have no personal grudge against Asiwaju, nor would I pursue a path of bitterness with my cousin, Remi Tinubu, who regarded everyone as pleasant and supportive.
Tinubu remains a man I admire no matter what sycophants have tried to make of my comment.”
