Jake Paul’s fight vs. Hasim Rahman Jr. Canceled on August 6, #Jake #Pauls #Fight #Hasim #Rahman #August 6 #Cancelled Welcome to OLASMEDIA TV NEWSThis is what we have for you today:
Jake Paulboxing match against Hasim Rahman Jr. has been cancelled, according to Problem Child’s boxing promotion, after the 12-1 fighter allegedly failed to meet his contractual obligations associated with his weight.
paul vs. Rahman Jr. was set to take place at Madison Square Garden in NYC on August 6… but just a week before the highly anticipated scrap, Most Valuable Promotions announced the fight was over.
It all has to do with the weight of Hasim, who previously fought at heavyweight, weighing over 260 pounds. Before the fight with Jake, Rahman Jr. agree to weigh up to 200 pounds the day before the fight at weigh-ins.
However, MPV says that Rahman Jr. was required to show officials of the New York State Athletics Commission that he was losing weight in the run-up to the fight, in an effort to avoid a major weight loss in a bid to gain 200 pounds.
Unfortunately, MVP says Hasim had lost less than a pound since signing the contract for the fight over 3 weeks ago.
Because of this development, the athletic commission dictated that the fight be fought at 205 pounds instead. Paul – who weighed 190 pounds for his second fight with Woodley – says he agreed to the change.
But MVP claims that Rahman Jr. then demanded that the match be fought at 215lbs…a huge jump from the originally agreed upon 200lbs.
That’s where Jake drew the line… which is why MVP says the fight isn’t happening.
“MVP and Jake Paul will not reward anyone who has behaved in such a deceitful and calculated manner. Therefore, MVP has no choice but to cancel the August 6 event. This forced outcome will affect Jake Paul, Amanda Serrano and all other fighters on this card who have been training tirelessly for this event over the past few months,” said a statement from the promotion.
A few weeks ago we spoke with Rahman Jr. …and he seemed to disagree with the weight reduction.

Responding to the cancellation, Jake said… “First Tommy Fumbled and now Hasim Rahman Crumbled. These boxers are the most difficult people to work with and they constantly lack the professionalism and confidence to fight me.”
“My apologies to all the other fighters on the map, our partners, our team and the fans.”
Hasim, of course, was not Jake’s original opponent. That had to be Tommy Fury … but Tyson’s brother withdrew due to problems traveling to the US
It’s unclear if Paul will now attempt to reschedule the fight with Tommy sometime in the near future.
