Once in her bedroom, the child Barrett said to him claims, “Come here honey, I want you to fuck me.”

Barrett, of Surrey, denies the charges at her trial before a jury of six men and six women at Guildford Crown Court.

The teen told his friends about the incident and the information was then passed on to his parents, who called police.

A statement from a friend of the boy was read in court and contained details of a Snapchat conversation between them. It said: ‘She’ [Barrett] took him upstairs and she tried to kiss him. She tried to touch his cock and he kept saying ‘no’.

“He said he couldn’t say it because it was too embarrassing. There were about 20 minutes where he said he couldn’t.

He said, ‘It’s really scary, it’s just so embarrassing’. He later texted me saying the police were involved and he added, “I wish I hadn’t told anyone.” I could see he was panicking.’

Another friend of the victim made a statement to police, saying: “She was drunk and apparently the woman asked him if he wanted to fuck her. I think he told me she came to him or he went to her and she started giving him oral sex and it stopped after a few seconds.

‘I sounded pretty breathless’ [on the phone]† He spoke quite quickly. At first he said something as if he thought he screwed up.’

Yesterday the Guildford Crown Court jury was shown video interviews with the then 14-year-old boy, who said: ‘My parents told me to talk to people, so I came over and spoke to people at the street party.

“I then spoke to Katie who was lovely and asked me what I wanted to do when school was over and how I was coping with the Covid quarantine. I had told her that I turned 15 that week. She also asked if I had a girlfriend and she said it’s okay I didn’t have one.

“She gave me a Strongbow and maybe 10 minutes later she gave me another drink. My sister asked for one but she said she should get one instead of getting one for her like she did for me. When we got outside and started talking, she said ‘come on’.’

Once they were alone, the court heard Barrett allegedly ask him, “So do you want to fuck me?” “She then said sorry and said she shouldn’t have said that,” the 14-year-old boy said.

“I then had a few drinks and Katie called me in and closed the door behind me. She asked me ‘will you do it?’, and I said ‘what?’ while I was on the phone.

‘She said ‘I want you’, and I said ‘no. You’re drunk and my parents are out,” but she said, “It’s okay,” and she kissed me. I froze. She said let’s go upstairs and I went with her. I didn’t know what to do and I was a little drunk.

‘She went up to her room and got on the bed and said ‘come on baby I want you to fuck me’ and I said ‘no I can’t, there are people knocking on the front door calling my name’ . She said it was okay and we wouldn’t get caught.’

He said she then harassed him and added: “There were people at the door and I said let’s go. She said ok and I went out and started playing football again.

“I had a drink from the fridge when I left to try and cover up. The next day I felt guilty and didn’t dare tell my mother because I was ashamed. Recently it dawned on me that I think she had it in mind all night. I didn’t realize it until a few days later.’

The boy, who cannot be named by name for legal reasons, told police that 40-year-old Barrett (pictured) had lured the 14-year-old boy to her bedroom after telling his father minutes earlier: don’t worry, I’m not trying to seduce your son’

The boy described her to officers and said: “She was quite tall, with blond hair, freckles and was wearing a long sundress and she was wearing glasses.”

Prosecutor Leo Seelig told the court: “The boy says the defendant led him upstairs to her bedroom on May 8, 2020 and asked him to have sex with her and then she touched his penis.

“On that day there was a street party of VE Day celebration. The victim was there with his sister and his father.

What the victim told the police was that the defendant was friendly with him and his sister and that she talked to him about his final exams and what he wanted to do after school.

“He told her he would soon be 15 years old. She gave him some Strongbow cider and invited him to her house for more drinks and they sat down in her garden. She was drunk and the victim’s father appeared in the yard.

“She said to him ‘don’t worry, I’m not trying to seduce your son’, and he… [the father] paid no attention to it and told her he thought she wasn’t. The defendant asked the victim if he wanted to fuck her. She then apologized, said she shouldn’t have said that and they went to the front of the property.

“The defendant gave the victim shots from Limoncello and they went back inside. She asked the victim if he ‘wanted to do it’ and said she ‘wanted him’. The victim said no, you’re drunk and his parents were outside.

‘She kissed him and he, also drunk, went with her. She took him upstairs and said ‘come here honey, I want you to fuck me.’

“A neighbor came into the house and called up the stairs for the defendant, who said she was in the bathroom.”

In her evidence before the jury, Barrett denied all charges, claiming that she would never do such things if she had a young son of her own.

She said, ‘I didn’t ask him to fuck me. I didn’t take him upstairs, I didn’t touch his penis and I didn’t make any of these comments.

“I was just friendly and shared, there was nothing sinister about it at all. We talked about school life, how he coped with quarantine, what he wanted to do when he finished school and a generally appropriate conversation.

“I mean, I’m a friendly person anyway, maybe my kindness was misinterpreted in something else, but there was definitely no physical contact or anything like that.”

She claimed that her house door was open all the time that the boy was in her house and that her bedroom door was also open because there was nothing to hide.

When prosecutor Leo Seelig asked why Barrett had not commented in her first police questioning, she said, “Because of what I was advised. It was a very unusual situation for me to be in and I was understandably quite shocked and a little scared.’

The Guildford Crown Court jury has withdrawn to consider the verdict.
