Downing Street in focus as Russia shares seven NATO targets: ‘Strike threat’ | Science | News

The news comes as leaders of NATO members meet at a summit in Madrid to discuss the ongoing Russian-led invasion of Ukraine. Throughout the war, Russian state media have already threatened to attack Western targets. The latest threat comes in a tweet with photos taken by Roscosmos, the Russian space agency.

The attached images show top views of key western locations with geographic coordinates.

Dmitry Rogozin, head of Roscosmos, posted on his Telegram account: “Today begins the NATO summit in Madrid, at which western countries will declare Russia their worst enemy,

“Roscosmos is publishing satellite photos of the summit location and the ‘decision centers’ that Ukrainian nationalists support.

“At the same time, we provide the coordinates of the objects. In case that.”

The images are no different from such images that are easily obtained through a satellite map view of an internet search engine.

Speaking of the photos, a social media user Sonja Eftimovska wrote: “Rozogin threatens to go on strike.

“Rozcosmos has published satellite images with the coordinates of decision-making centers such as the Bundestag building in Berlin, central London, the Pentagon and the White House in the United States, as well as the location for the NATO summit in Madrid.”

Russia has also recently threatened to use the so-called SATAN 2 missile, known as SARMAT, in Russia.

TV presenters had previously been seen joking and laughing at the idea of using the missile to hit New York, turning London into a nuclear wasteland in 200 seconds due to its hypersonic speed.

The fear of a nuclear attack is felt by ordinary citizens across the US.

An Associated Press survey shows that three-quarters of Americans are concerned that Russia will use nuclear weapons against the United States, and more than half fear that Russians will target their hometowns specifically.

Likewise, a report the following month from the Chicago Council on Global Affairs found that 69 percent of Americans fear a US nuclear exchange with Russia.

The Russian ambassador to the US added fuel to the fire when he complained: “The current generation of NATO politicians is clearly not taking the nuclear threat seriously.”
