She has been anxious and defenseless since Nicola (Nikola Wheeler) was attacked by a girl gangster in Emmerdale.
She was scared and couldn’t leave the house, and when she did, she accidentally crashed her car into a van in David (Matthew Wolfenden). It was in this case that David decided to use it as a way out of his money worries.
David plans to have Nicola’s insurance company pay a hefty amount of compensation, pretending to be injured in the incident.
This is an unpopular move in the village, and Brenda (Leslie Dunlop) has expressed dissatisfaction with David’s misuse when Nicola is at the bottom. Priya (Fiona Wade) and Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant) also call on David about it, and he eventually begins to wonder if it’s right.
He doesn’t want to do anything to upset Nicola anymore, while his debt is piled up and it’s very likely he’ll lose everything.
