Monday 4 July
Charles and Ethan reconcile after last week’s murmur (that he never gives Marcus and Ethan space as a couple). Charles was soon shocked when Ethan received the news from his mother that his sister Naomi had gone missing.
Charles was plagued with guilt feelings to realize Naomi’s disappearance was probably due to his refusal to meet her. He feels responsible because he was not there for her. In church, a desperate Charles prays for her safety.
While Marcus is helpfully searching for information on where to find Naomi and Charles is soon stunned by a photo Marcus found of her. When Charles sees this, he is determined to find her.
While David is apparently determined to continue with his insurance fraud. But when Jacob and Priya make clear their opposition to David’s behavior. He shows a flicker of regret. Will he continue his deception and push out those close to him?
It’s the day of Faith’s scan and Moira encourages Cain to accompany his mother. Later, Chas is furious that Cain just sat in the Wolpak and drank while Faith went for her scan and Moira’s heart sank. Cain did not stand up for his mother.
Back home, Moira makes a sincere plea for Cain to be there for Faith. Did she finally get through to her husband, even just a little bit?
Matty acts very moody.
Nicola begins to show signs of confidence when comforting Bernice lures her out of the house.
Tuesday 5 July
The next day, Manpreet returns and learns that Charles went to look for his missing daughter. But while Charles is searching, he hits another cul-de-sac. Back in town, Ethan ponders what it would be like to have Naomi as part of his life.
Later, while looking for a bar, Charles is overwhelmed when he notices Naomi. As he watches her quarrel with her bar manager, Charles jumps in to defend her and pushes over her boss in the process. Naomi is stunned when Charles lets slip she is his daughter. But how will Naomi react?
Matty acts very moody. But when Matty gets wind that Amy asked Ryan about it, he slaps and a chair is sent away. Moira does her best to appease, aware of the real reason.
The next day there is a slight thawing of Cain when he delivers to Faith a card that Isaac made and later makes an effort to talk to his mother.
Bitter Chas is not convinced it’s enough, while Moira is happy just to see how they talk. Chas is left on a knife edge when the doctors call Faith and tell her to come in to discuss her scan results.
Thursday July 6
At the Hospital, Faith and Chas are waiting for the oncology appointment and will soon receive the news that her cancer has spread. Chas is crying when Faith decides she refuses further chemo.
Chas pleads with Faith to reconsider, but is eventually forced to accept her mother’s decision. Back home, Chas ignites Cain’s apparent indifference to Faith’s decision to discontinue her treatment.
Outside The Hop, Chas and Al share a passionate kiss. Although he is initially reluctant to take advantage of Chas, Al soon gives up remorse so that Chas can use him to escape her troubles.
When Liam asks Leyla about her drinking, she uses Priya as a cover, but soon when Priya reveals to Liam that they did not celebrate last night, he is worried.
Soon Moira begs Matty to be honest with Amy
Thursday July 7
Meanwhile, outside in a field, Cain is staggering privately from the news. Moira tries to speak sense to Cain, knowing that he will regret not reaching out to his mother soon. Soon Cain asks Chas for a private chat and a moving night follows …
As Faith is on her way to share her news and decision with her friends Pollard and Brenda. It’s an emotionally hearty night as the three friends sit up while Faith reflects on all her regrets about Cain. Meanwhile, Cain alone shares with Chas his traumatic memories of his past and the damage Faith inflicted on him. Chas can see Cain’s real pain.
As they reflect through the night, these brothers and sisters and Cain agree to make an effort regarding Faith. They leave on good footing after a long night together. But did this evening of sharing make a difference to this mother and son?
The next day, when Liam questions her again, Leyla uses sadness about Leanna as a cover, but she is left unaware that it has only aroused Liam’s growing concern.
Leyla panics when Liam suggests he knows why she lied about being with Priya the night before. And quickly set out his thoughts. Later, Leyla returns home to a sleeping Liam and places her bags of coke on the table, seemingly girded herself to confess the truth. But will she?
Friday July 8
Liv was stunned when mother Sandra showed up, ostensibly to seek help with her alcohol use, but was Liv best placed to help her mother and does Sandra really want help? Is it all as it seems?
Excited Chas receives a message from Al and soon confirms the details of their secret encounter.
