Former Labor Prime Minister told Sky News presenters that Britain is at war with both Europe and the United States over Northern Ireland in an effort to amend the controversial Brexit Protocol. Mr Brown was asked to clarify how the war situation exists between London and Washington, and the former Prime Minister said that the United States would enter into a trade treaty with Britain until the Brexit issue in Northern Ireland was resolved. He said he did not want to sign.

Brown told Sky News:

“Why are we at war with the United States !?” Rigby asked.

“We are at war with the United States over Ireland,” the former Prime Minister replied.

“Unless we can sort out the issues related to Ireland, the United States will not sign a trade agreement with the United Kingdom.”
