A royal source claimed the couple paid for their own flights when they visited England over Easter. They told the Daily Mail that financial independence “has now been achieved”, describing it as a “great honor for them”. Meghan and Harry paid a surprise visit to the UK in April ahead of their trip to the Netherlands for the Invictus Games. They met the Queen at Windsor Castle before going to The Hague. This was their first return trip to the UK as a couple since renouncing royal duties in March 2020.
