Annie was selected as the winner of the Great British Sewing Bee 2022.
A 32-year-old fashion buyer from Sally overcame a 10-week tough sewing challenge and defeated Brogan, Debra and ManYee in an incredibly close episode and a nail-piercing finale.
“I wasn’t ready at all. It was definitely a shock, but it was absolutely amazing,” Annie said of her victory.
“I think we were all very focused on our weekly challenges, the finals came very early !! It was a surreal feeling for us all to come to an end. I really think we’ll win. I didn’t. “
At the Grand Finale, the rest of the sewer was appointed by judges Esme Young and Patrick Grant to follow a pattern of amorphous dresses made from a single elastane and manipulated into shapes with D-ring connections. ..
After that, they were presented with all the scraps from the previous week, made party outfits from them, and then put on a bespoke red carpet jumpsuit on the model.
Patrick and Esme revealed that it was Annie’s stunning jumpsuit that paved the way for her victory.
“It was a very nice sewing-it was a knockout,” Patrick enthusiastically said.
Esme added:
Annie was awarded the title of Best Amateur Sewer in the UK in 2022 and was handed all the important trophies.
“It will definitely be the central stage in the room in front of me, I haven’t won anything so far!” She was enthusiastic.
“It’s amazing that I can now get it for everyone to see. I was hiding it in a sewing cupboard, so it was safe and invisible.
Annie talked about the time she spent at Sewing Bee and said she made lots of new friends and learned new skills.
“For anyone who wants to apply for a future series, just choose it, get out of the comfort zone of sewing and trust the process. You won’t regret it,” she continued.
