Duncan James admitted his teenage daughter was more impressed by his appearance on Celebrity Gogglebox than by his fame in being in the boy band Blue.
The 44-year-old, who will reunite with his bandmates Lee Ryan, Simon Webbe and Antony Costa for a reunion for their 20th anniversary tour, recently appeared as a TV bank reviewer alongside Denise Van Outen.
The group is getting ready to release their seventh studio album, but Duncan’s daughter seems more impressed with his Gogglebox era than being part of the nostalgic boy band.
Duncan did it with OK! spoke and revealed: ‘My daughter is 17, so she’s a little too young to remember Blue for the first time.
‘When I told her I was going on Celebrity Gogglebox, she found it more impressive. She was like, “Oh my God, this is amazing!” ‘
He added that it was’ fantastic ‘to play with his friend Denise and said:’ I can go to Denise’s house and sit on that famous couch. Den and I get along so well, we have a good old catch-up. ‘
They ‘gossiped’ and to catch up while forgetting that the cameras were actually there which makes the program ‘so authentic’, Duncan added.
Duncan replaced Denise’s ex-fiancé Eddie Boxshall on the bench after the couple broke up earlier this year.
Denise and the boyband star go far back, so of course Duncan was the perfect match.
“Denise and Duncan have been pals since they both gained notoriety in the late ’90s and he helped her through her painful separation this year,” an insider told The Sun.
“As bezzies who share a similar outrageous sense of humor, they have the perfect chemistry to make some laugh while watching TV shows.”
Celebrity Gogglebox continues this Friday at 21:00 on Channel 4.
