Here’s when the DOGE-1 lunar mission is scheduled to take off

The DOGE-1 Lunar mission that was to fly in the first quarter of 2022 has reportedly been rescheduled to take effect at a later date this year. Elon Musk’s SpaceX plans to launch the “DOGE-1 Mission to the Moon” in the first quarter of 2022. The announcement was made on May 9, 2021 by Geometric Energy Corporation.

The dogecoin-funded mission will carry a 40-kilogram cube satellite with DOGE-1 on the Falcon 9 rocket. The initial clue about SpaceX sending a real dogecoin literally to the moon was shared by Elon in one of his tweets of April 1, 2021.

The news was covered on CNBC by reporter Michael Sheetz. The mission was scheduled to debut in the first quarter of 2022. But due to the delay, Sheetz received many inquiries about an update of it. So I decided to go to Geometric Energy Corporation CEO Sam Reid to get the current status of the mission.

The DOGE-1 mission will be launched in December

According to Twitter wire by Michael Sheetz, Sam Ried confirmed that “DOGE-1 is still being manifested as a co-op with SpaceX’s Falcon 9, but Intuitive Machines’ IM-1 lunar lander is the primary payload and determines the timing of launch – hence the delay.”

Sheetz also mentioned in the thread that Geometric Energy Corporation paid an unknown amount to SpaceX for the launch of the DOGE-1. Sheetz’s requested photos about the DOGE-1 satellite updates. Sam Ried responded to the request that “the satellite is past the design stage.”

Sheetz also mentioned that an intuitive machine spokesperson said the launch is likely to be done in December. Further updates regarding the launch will be published three months before the launch. The mission will literally send DOGE to the moon. But only time will tell whether it can send the price of DOGE to the moon.
