Crown Claire Foy was “attacked by 1,000 emails a month” by stalker.

The Crown star Claire Foy received more than 1,000 emails a month from a stalker who wanted to be her boyfriend, the court said.

The 38-year-old Foy, who played the young queen in the first two series of hit Netflix shows, was allegedly targeted by 39-year-old Jason Penrose in November and December last year.

Addressing the Highgate Mental Health Center, Penrose was accompanied by NHS workers at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court in London on Thursday.

Stalker protection order

Rosa Benasan, on behalf of the Metropolitan Police Department, has applied for a complete Stalker Protection Order (SPO) against Penrose.

In August and September 2021, Penrose sent an email to Foy’s agent stating that he was a film director and producer and wanted her to appear in the next film.

Foy told the agent he didn’t know who he was. From November 2nd to mid-December, the court heard that he sent more than 1,000 emails, contacted the actress’s sister, found out where it was, and then visited her address.

An email was also allegedly sent to Foy’s spokeswoman Emma Jackson.

Ms. Benasan applied for a complete order and said, “There was clearly an act equivalent to stalking, which poses a significant risk to Ms. Foy.”

She said the order was “necessary to protect them.”

However, the hearing to determine the full SPO was postponed until July 22, after Penrose arrived in court without an agent.

Moira McFarlane, who later arrived to represent him, chose to postpone, saying, “His mental health is still questioned.”

The provisional SPO was originally granted in February and has been extended until July 28th.

Explicit email sent to Claire Foy allegedly

Winner of the Golden Globe Award, two Primetime Emmy Awards, and two National Film Actors’ Union Awards, Foy starred in Steven Soderbergh’s psychological thriller Ansein and wrote Neil Armstrong’s wife Janet Siron as a biography of Astronaut Firstman. I played in a movie.

According to court documents, Penrose sent an explicit email to Ms. Jackson saying, “I want to make her his girlfriend.”

In one case, on November 2, he allegedly stated:

Ms. Jackson forwarded the email to Foy’s agent who received the message but blocked her account.

“I called the police to report that Jason Penrose was outside her residence and kept ringing the doorbell,” Foy said on December 17, last year, the newspaper said.
