Rafael Nadal gave Emma Raducanu his support during her “tough year” and welcomed her as a “very important character” in tennis.

Raducanu crashed on Wednesday’s second round stage after losing to Caroline Garcia in a straight set.

The 19-year-old has been searching for shape since her victory at the US Open last September. She struggled with many injury issues and made many changes to her coaching staff, resulting in an inconsistent coat.

Like Raducanu, Nadal won his first Grand Slam at the young age of 19 and became a sports legend with 22 great successes in his name.

After booking a third round location for winning Ricardas Berankis on Thursday night, Nadal was young after wearing a T-shirt with the Bull logo at a press conference following the first round victory. I was asked about the elimination of Brit.

And while acknowledging that she has endured a “tough year,” Nadal believes she will make the right decisions and improve as her career progresses.

“Honestly, I didn’t have much interaction with her,” Nadal said at a press conference. “But I was very impressed to see her win the National Open.

‘I saw the end. Her way of playing was incredible. “

He added: “Then it’s hard to manage all this kind of success very early in your life, right?

“But I hope all of her is the best. I think she is a very important character for our sport.

“I know she’s having a tough year, but on the other hand, she’s already won a slum very early in her career.

“I think it’s settled on her to take her time to keep improving and to have a chance in the near future. She really wants to do that.”
