On Friday, the ministry announced that of the 417 hospitalizations nationwide, nine patients are currently hospitalized in the upper part of the south.

They said it was recommended that “everyone work little by little to help us survive the winter” while the seasonal virus is widespread.

“The best thing we can do to prevent New Zealanders and their families from being hospitalized is to get the latest information on influenza and COVID-19 vaccination and booster immunization.”
