Putin was humiliated as Ukraine regained Snake Island, but 10 people were killed in Odesa’s missile attack | World | News

Kieu claimed to have expelled Russian troops from the island after a cannon and missile attack. President Volodymyr Zelensky welcomed the victory in a nightly television speech, but warned that it was not a “guarantee of security.”

He states: “It does not yet guarantee security.

“It is not yet guaranteed that the enemy will not come back.

“But this severely limits the actions of the occupiers.

“Step by step, we push them back from our oceans, our lands, and our skies.”

In contrast, Russia claimed to have withdrawn from Snake Island on Thursday as a “good faith gesture.”

Moscow argued that this was to show that it did not interfere with the UN’s attempt to open a humanitarian corridor that would allow grain supply from Ukraine.

According to regional officials, this comes from a Russian missile strike in the southern port city of Odessa, which killed 10 people early on Friday morning.

Earlier reports reported that a housing strike resulted in the deaths of six people, including three children.

In Severodonetsk, residents are coming out of the basement shelter and trying to rebuild the city.

One resident, Sergei Oleinik, told Reuters that all urban infrastructure had been “destroyed.”

He states: “Almost all urban infrastructure has been destroyed.

“we [have been] I have been living without gas, electricity and water since May.
