Like many other off-screen businesses, David’s Shop is struggling during Covid’s pandemic, with David Metcalfe (painted by Matthew Wolfenden) trying to get his work.
He realizes his store isn’t working as well as he expected, so David is looking for extra cash to get.
This will allow him to take advantage of a minor clash with the traumatized Nicola King and pretend to be a neck injury to make money from Nicola’s insurance company.
Nicola increasingly showed signs of agoraphobia, an unreasonable fear of entering or leaving an open or crowded area, and panicked his car into a collision with David’s car.
David, who decided to continue the insurance fraud, was rebuked by Brenda for filing a claim in the first place because Nicola remained fragile after the attack.
But in the upcoming scene of Yorkshire-based soap, he was blown up by two other villagers: former partner Priya Sharma (Fionawade) and former stepchild Jacob Gallagher (Joe Warren Plant).
Next week, both Priya and Jacob will greatly clarify their opposition to David’s attitude as his insurance fraud continues.
But when they share their disapproval, David begins to flicker with regret for his plans.
Will he ignore their concerns, or will he see the reason before expelling people near him?
I don’t know this yet, but it’s definitely a big dilemma for David.
As mentioned above, David’s finances aren’t what they once were, and his worries grow.
