Paris News: Waiters lift a stinking lid and run down the trash-covered French capital | World | News

Edward Chisam, who was abandoned by his girlfriend and ran out of money, said he met only humiliation from rude customers, vulgar bosses and unreliable colleagues in the French capital.

He also described in the book graffiti-covered dirty streets and unsanitary practices in the restaurant where he worked.

He gave his own explanation of what it was like at the “bottom of the food chain”.

The waiter said, “The Picasso or Hemingway in Paris is gone,” and the streets were filled with graffiti, flooded cardboard boxes, and messy pavement.

Chisholm explained that the city is now full of addicts and those who are mentally distressed.

He said there was a “brown fog” in Paris and the city released “intense, sulfuric acid, rotten eggs, old shoes, brake dust, and urinary injections.”

The city is far from the former wealthy district, and residents now live in “Warren, a sloping-walled building with sunk floors and rooms like stairs that can be accessed by tilting the stairs.” ..

Chisholm can only live in a shared room in a slum with a dirty mattress teaming up with bed bugs, a blood-stained carpet, and a sink that doubles as a toilet.

Having the time to live in an expensive city, Chisholm worked as a waiter and earned only € 1,086.13 (£ 941.34) without tax.

“French vineyards only send corked bottles to England,” he said, is a strong belief in Paris.

Chisholm, who worked as a waiter in the city of love, was able to reveal some of what is happening in hospitality.

He said that if the waiter accidentally spills food on the floor, the workers scoop up the food and serve it on a fresh plate, and the customer is “unwise.”

Dirty napkins and nasty towels are also used to wipe dishes and glasses, and waiters have “dirty fingernails” and “horrible body odor.”
