The seven-time World Champion has effectively retreated in a standoff with the FIA to avoid fines and pauses prior to the home race at Silverstone.
A FIA spokesman said:
The FIA is keen to impose existing rules banning previously unenforced jewelery.
This relaxed approach has changed under the new President Mohammed Ben Sreyem. He gave Hamilton extra time to remove his studs, which said seven times world drivers need surgical removal.
The tax exemption expired on June 30, raising the possibility of controversy over the issue in front of 140,000 fans this weekend. Hamilton has now removed the heat from it on his climb.
Sportsmail understands that talks between Hamilton and Ben Sreyem are scheduled for next week.
