A Tory MP who allegedly touched two men was expelled from the party while an investigation is underway.
Chris Pincher dramatically resigned as deputy chief whip last night, saying he ‘drank far too much at a private member club on Wednesday and embarrassed himself’.
However, there have been calls for Boris Johnson to go a step further and remove the Conservative whip.
Tonight, a spokesman for Conservative chief Chris Heaton-Harris said: ‘After hearing that a formal complaint had been lodged with the ICGS, the prime minister agreed with the chief whip that Chris Pincher’s whip should be suspended while the investigation is ongoing. .
“We will not prejudge that investigation in advance. We call on colleagues and the media to respect that process. “
