A ‘brutal’ and ‘polished’ sex offender may have more victims yet to come forward, police say.

Luiz Da Silva Neto, 35, was found guilty by the Oxford Crown Court on Friday of drugging and sexually assaulting two men in November and December 2021.

The court heard that he drugged the men with an unknown substance that was likely GHB or GBL.

One of the victims was a married man on a night out with colleagues in central London hotspot Raffles before he was attacked.

A month later, Da Silva Neto targeted another man in the same location, drugging the victim and taking him back to his home where he attacked him.

Police believe Da Silva Neto targeted straight men because he thought they were less likely to report him.

Thames Valley Police have urged anyone who believes they have been the victim of sexual assault by Da Silva Neto, or anyone else for that matter, to come forward.

Senior Investigating Officer Inspector James Holden-White said: ‘When we look at the method of insulting in this case, the ‘MO’ as we would call it, it seems very brutal, it seems very polished and quite accomplished, he knows what he is doing .’

He added: “We are continuing to investigate his activities, I cannot comment on that, but what I am saying is that if you think you are the victim of Luiz Da Silva Neto, or if you think you are the victim of similar insulting by someone else, please come forward, we will listen to you.’

Police explained how Da Silva Neto visited several pub toilets and approached men to test their sobriety to identify victims before drugging them.

They said the case bore similarities to the crimes committed by Reynhard Sinaga, the UK’s most prolific rapist, in Manchester.

Sinaga was jailed in January 2020 for drugging and raping more than 40 men, while at trial he was told he had targeted people by impersonating a Good Samaritan before dotting his victims’ drinks with drugs. like GBH to knock them unconscious.

He is believed to have more victims yet to be formally identified as Greater Manchester Police received more than 155 reports following a public appeal following his conviction.

Mr Holden-White said: ‘I am more concerned that this could be similar to the Reynhard Sinaga case in Manchester, which was also widely reported, where a man did something very similar.

“He (Sinaga) goes into the night economy, he targets people who are already vulnerable and drunk, he’s a Good Samaritan and offers to get them some food or call them a taxi or drink something for them.” to get them.

“Sinaga then took them to his flat, which was very accessible to where he was, and was then able to administer a drug and then sexually insult them.”

Holden-White has urged people in nightclubs and bars to stay vigilant, stay close to friends and use night shifts such as social workers and police officers if they feel in danger.

He said: ‘I cannot emphasize enough how unusual and rare these types of violations are, I really don’t want to sound the alarm.’

Yesterday, Da Silva Neto clasped his head in his hands and began to cry silently when he was found guilty of drugging, sexually assaulting and raping a married man who was out on a night out with colleagues.

It took an Oxford Crown Court jury 13 hours and 39 minutes to find Luiz Da Silva Neto, 35, guilty of the attack in December 2021.

They found Da Silva Neto guilty of intentionally administering a substance to a home in Oxfordshire, causing a person to engage in unauthorized sexual activity and rape.

Da Silva Neto of Wandsworth, south London, denied drugging two men, who cannot be named for legal reasons, possibly with GHB or GBL, and sexually assaulting them in November and December 2021.

Prosecutor Matthew Walsh previously described the drug as an “aphrodisiac” that has “euphoric and hallucinogenic effects.”

The married man who had a night out with colleagues in central London hotspot Raffles before he was attacked at a property in Oxfordshire, the court heard.

He told the trial that he has vague memories of the events that night.

They felt “strange” when he spoke to the doorman of the club, a cup with a “dark brown liquid” held to his lips at one point and waking up naked in a strange room.

Da Silva Neto said he was “high” and looking for drugs that night, but claimed the married man did not appear drunk when they met and he denied drinking the man’s drink, the court heard.

The jury found Da Silva Neto not guilty of charges of kidnapping and committing a crime with intent to commit a sex crime involving the married man.

Previously, the jury had also found Da Silva Neto not guilty on one count of intentionally administering a substance to the married man.

Yesterday they were considering their verdict regarding his first alleged victim, who was allegedly attacked at a house in Middle Barton, Oxfordshire in November 2021.

Da Silva Neto denied charges of intentionally administering a substance and inciting sexual activity without consent regarding this first alleged victim.

The jury was told that this man and Da Silva Neto had taken pictures of Jagermeister before the alleged victim began to feel tired and went to sleep fully clothed before waking up naked.

Da Silva Neto told the court he “consent” and was “awake” when the couple had intimate contact.
