Game of Thrones star Lena Headey has been sued by her former agency for $ 1.5 million (£ 1.2 million) over her deleted role in Thor: Love and Thunder, it was alleged.

Troika, which changed its name to YMU in 2020, claims Headey owes them at least $ 500,000 of the money she earned with the new Marvel movie.

According to Variety, Headey, 48, was eventually cut from the film and will not appear, but YMU believes they are entitled to the equivalent of 7% of the commission fee she received for her work.

In addition, the talent agency also aims to secure $ 300,000 (£ 249,000) for her work in Gigi Gaston’s movie, 9 Bullets, from earlier this year.

In addition, YMU apparently claims that they are entitled to an extra $ 650,000 (£ 541,000) for the star’s time for the non-broadcast Showtime series Rita, which did not receive a series order.

Headey would appear as the titular character in the adaptation of the original Danish series, but only shot a pilot episode.

According to court documents, Troika / YMU and Headey joined in 2005, after her personal representative Michael Duff joined the company.

However, Duff eventually left Troika / YMU in early 2020 and Headey also left the company in May of the same year.

Troika / YMU claims that, in terms of the agreement signed with Headey, the actress owes the agency commission fees of a number of projects.

Her defense alleges that she never signed such a contract with Troika / YMU or with Duff, and that any agreement made was verbal.

They also claimed that the arrangement was made when Duff worked for his former agency, Lou Carl Associates, in the late 1990s.

Court applications filed on behalf of Headey state that Troika / YMU was never her sole representative, as she was also represented by the US agency CAA.

Headey’s defense specifically disputes that Troika / YMU has any claim to the commission she received for the new Thor movie and that she first became involved in direct approach from director Taika Waititi.
