Volvo’s C40 Recharge EV will be available here by the end of the year.

After making its debut here at the end of last year, local attention was primarily focused on Volvo’s all-electric sect, Polestar, but the Chinese-owned Scandinavian brand will have its own EV by the end of this year. Announced to land here.

Volvo New Zealand will launch a fully electric version of the XC40 compact SUV and the first electric-only model, the C40, locally. The first example will arrive here in the third quarter of this year.

The XC40 Recharge and C40 Recharge are both on the same CMA (Compact Modular Architecture) platform as the ICE and PHEV XC40 and Polestar 2 (and all Lync & Co. Models and Geely Xingyue) and have a 69kWh battery. A 78kWh battery with a single or dual motor, both suitable for ranges over 400km (WLTP) on a single charge.

If you prefer a more traditional SUV shape, Volvo also offers an XC40 recharge locally.

The first XC40 arrives this year, but the first shipment has already been considered, Montgomery said: arrival. “

As far as the C40 is concerned, Volvo states that New Zealand customers are “urgently encouraged to secure vehicles due to the strong customer demand for tightly restricted 2022 vehicle delivery.”
