2022 is the worst year for video games to date – Reader Features

Readers are dissatisfied with the lack of news and new video games released in 2022 and are worried that things will not get much better next year.

So June is over and arguably the worst June ever for video games.Do not have There’s only one E3, but this year most companies haven’t even tried to provide a reasonable alternative. Microsoft has done its best, but with the exception of Starfield’s gameplay, it hasn’t previewed anything that won’t be released within the next 12 months, so I can’t remember any of what they showed.

They didn’t say why this was, but it was clear that it was the same reason that most companies didn’t hold an event at all. b) I don’t want to waste time organizing trailers and gameplay videos that just slow things down.

That’s fine, it’s all Covid’s fault, I’m not anyone’s fault, but everything is piled up to make this year the most unforgettable year ever. And it’s behind the scenes of 2021 and 2000, and it wasn’t exactly classic in itself.

Everything scheduled for Christmas 2021 was postponed to the beginning of this year, so the beginning of this year was actually pretty good. The mighty Elden Ring was clearly a highlight, but Horizon Forbidden West was also a lot of fun and I enjoyed Lego Star Wars: Skywalker Saga.

At that point, things seemed surprisingly well, despite a worrying shortage of new announcements, but then we hit a brick wall and almost nothing since then. There was not.

The Summer Olympics drought is not a new phenomenon and can be more or less extreme, but most games are always present because they are always released during the colder months when people are more indoors. But now, no matter what the weather outside, summer seems to last forever.

Not only are there no E3 style events that brighten things up, but looking at the release schedule, there aren’t any major releases until late August at the earliest. Still, the highlights of the Christmas rush are very exciting prospects (at least for me) as Gotham Knights and another Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

I will say this again. It’s not anyone’s fault. I’m not the fault of anyone, but it’s starting to get really depressing. The industry is basically two years behind, and at least it will take at least to catch up, especially since it is unlikely that it will change significantly next year, or perhaps a year later.

And before the contrarians in the comments section suggest that expecting a big new game to come out more than once every six months is some exorbitant qualification, I actually I’m afraid not. No, there is no backlog to play instead. And I certainly don’t want to play old games instead.

I always like to see the next big thing, I don’t like living in the past. Especially because video games are driven by technology. This is not the end of the world. Much worse is happening now than the gaming industry has had a quiet year of years, but I still find it disappointing.

We hope that unexpected gems will be coming soon, or that God of War Ragnarok will finally reach its release date. I’m getting tired because I’m not looking forward to anything about the game.
